The Importance of Continuing to Communicate
I believe there is great value in continuing to communicate.
What we say may not be understood right away.
Sometimes people may not listen.
Sometimes they may not understand.
Even so, I believe that things we truly care about are worth communicating again and again.
Human beings are fascinating because we can hold completely opposite feelings at the same time.
For example:
I probably shouldn’t eat this.
But I want to.
Because it’s delicious.
I should be studying.
But I want to go play.
Because it’s fun.
Contradictory feelings can exist side by side.
I think we’ve all experienced that at some point.
So how do we make decisions when we feel two things at once?
Some people decide based on emotion.
Others rely on logic.
There is probably no single right answer.
For me, what matters most is not lying to myself about how I feel.
Not pretending that something meaningful never happened.
Not pretending that valuable experiences never existed.
At the same time, not ignoring what was difficult.
Not overlooking what felt out of place.
Not turning away from the things we wanted to improve.
Both can be true.
The good experiences and the difficult ones.
The gratitude and the discomfort.
The lessons learned and the challenges faced.
I believe the same principle applies to work.
Rarely does a great product, service, or idea get understood after being explained only once.
We communicate it again.
We approach it from a different angle.
We continue to share it while trying to understand the perspective of others.
And sometimes, after many conversations, something clicks.
Someone who showed no interest yesterday suddenly understands.
Someone remembers a conversation from years ago and sees it differently.
The impact of communication is not always immediate.
Still, I believe there is value in communicating.
Not because it will necessarily change someone else, but because it allows us to express what truly matters to us with honesty and integrity.
That is why I will continue to communicate.
Not to persuade.
Not to win.
But to give honest words to the things I care about.
